Dear friends, family and animal-lovers,
Our little Lou went into intensive care on Wednesday night after having a nasty reaction to a standard pain medication. The medication caused the walls of her stomach to quickly deteriorate and thin out, leaking into her bloodstream and organs. She became septic, and we were called in on Thursday morning to say goodbye to her. She somehow has pulled through, and is now receiving round the clock care at Wanstead vet hospital in East London.
Since Thursday, Lou has been making slow improvements - her blood pressure is now stable, but her heart is working overtime to keep her going and she is on a feeding tube to keep up her protein levels. She will be in the hospital until at least Tuesday 18th February.
Lou is receiving the best care possible at Wanstead, but the costs are quickly becoming overwhelming. So far, her bills have reached £5,800. Each day in their care adds another £2,000 to her bill.
The vets have reassured us that Lou is not in any pain, and is not suffering. As long as she is in this state and showing improvement, we have made the decision to continue treatment. To give her the best chance of recovery, we are reaching out to help ease the costs of her medical bills.
How You Can Help
Any donation, no matter how small, will go directly toward Lou's treatment—covering hospital stays, medication, and follow-up care. If you’re not in a position to donate, sharing this page would mean the world to us.
Anyone who knows us, knows how special Lou is to us. We adopted her two years ago and our life has never been the same. She brings joy and love to everyone around her, and with some help we can bring her back to health.
Thank you from the bottom of our heart for your kindness, generosity and support.
With love,
Salma, Fi and Lou
