Lou’s ALS #KeepOnBuzzin Fundraiser

For those of you that may not know Louis Del Re, he is 31 years old living with his fiancé Emily and dog Auston in Stouffville Ontario. He has two younger brother's Marcus (28) and Curtis (22). Louis is a paramedic, loves sports (especially hockey and golf), all outdoor activities and live music. In June of 2023, he was diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease. His symptoms began subtly with his voice in December of 2022. Followed by some difficulty swallowing liquids. In March he noticed a decrease in strength while working out and playing hockey. In April, he began having muscle fasciculations and obvious weakness in his hands. He saw a family doctor in early May and was diagnosed at Sunnybrook ALS clinic on June 30th.

ALS is a progressive and terminal neuromuscular disease with no cure or effective treatments. However, Louis is currently with a care team at Sunnybrook Hospital, which is a world leading research institution for ALS with some of the best neurologists and health care professionals in the world.

Proceeds will go directly to Louis, to aid in access to healthcare and/or equipment not covered by public or private insurance, as well as Sunnybrook ALS research.
