Hello All,

My name is Lou. For the past 5+ years, I have been working with my wife Rosie and some close friends on a feature-length documentary film I directed. With short notice, we just found out that our film has been accepted at the Slamdance Film Festival from Jan. 20-26 in Park City, Utah, where it will have its world premiere!

Slamdance is a highly respected and notable film festival. It has hosted the premieres and launched the careers of significant filmmakers such as Jared Hess (Napoleon Dynamite), Ari Aster (Midsommar), Bong Joon Ho (Parasite), as well as many other established movie makers.

We have spent countless hours perfecting our documentary film Space Happy: Phil Thomas and The Uncharted Zone and getting it festival ready. The film has been a labor of love, and the hard work has paid off. Getting accepted into Slamdance is an honor and a chance to meet with other filmmakers, producers, and distributors. Attending the festival will create the opportunity to help the film reach a larger audience.

Dates and Showtimes:
Saturday, January 21st @ 7:45pm in the Crescent Room, 2023 Slamdance Film Festival
Tuesday, January 24th @ 5:30pm in the Ballroom, 2023 Slamdance Film Festival

Funding:
After careful consideration, Rosie and I have decided to travel to Park City, Utah and represent the film. Funds raised via GoFundMe will be used towards air travel, car rental, and accommodations. Any extra funds raised will go toward film PR, promotional materials used at the festival, parking, and meals.

Film Synopsis:
Space Happy: Phil Thomas Katt and The Uncharted Zone is a feature-length
documentary about a group of ragtag artists making “so bad it’s good” music and
videos in Pensacola, Florida under the direction of the eccentric Phil Thomas Katt.
Spanning over five decades of footage, Space Happy is a portrayal of creative
minds pursuing art against all odds — and talent.

Attendees:
Lou & Rosie Crisitello

Donation Deadline:
We plan to fly to Utah on the first day of the festival Jan. 20, 2022 and return home on Jan 27th. We would love to have the necessary funds in place on or before Jan 16th. However, the campaign will remain open beyond that to help get us as close to our goal as possible. No contribution is too small.

Thank you so much for your support and contribution!
