Hello everyone,
This is Loumynn. He's an 8-year-old cat that came to me as a very friendly and sweet stray. After a week of being unclaimed, I decided to keep him and take him in. He was showing physical signs of needing medical attention, so I took him to a local vet where I happily covered the cost of all vaccines and exams since it was do-able.
In going to the vet, we discovered that Loumynn was dealing with a high white blood cell count due to an infection as well as other concerns such as being severely underweight, runny nose, lack of energy, and mild bronchitis. He was sent home with medications and again, I happily covered the cost since it was reasonably priced.
However, when he finished his antibiotic on May 4th, I took him to a different low-cost vet to get neutered on May 5th where the vet immediately informed me that Loumynn was suffering from Gingival Hyperplasia. Gingival Hyperplasia is a medical condition by which a cat's gingival tissue becomes inflamed and enlarged. Enlargement is typically caused by dental plaque or other bacterial growth along the gum line. This condition is relatively rare in cats and highly painful. He went on to explain that the only solution for him, because of how severe his teeth were, was to pull out all of his teeth during his neuter. I, of course, agreed because I could tell the poor guy was in pain. That being said, I never imagined I'd be stuck paying $3,450 for this medically necessary procedure. By no means do I have this amount of money to pay this huge medical expense and I have exhausted all of my resources in trying to get him the help he needs.
I would greatly appreciate any help you're willing to give. Even if it's sharing this fund for Loumynn.
Thank you so much!
