Loukas's Cancer Battle

Hello Family and Friends,
A friend that is dear to us, Loukas Georgiou, has had an extremely challenging year as he was diagnosed with colorectal and liver cancer. Unfortunately, he has been unable to work due to his condition and had to move from his home in Greece to France to undergo chemotherapy, radiotherapy and surgeries thus far on his battle to fight cancer. The doctors are being positive on how he is responding to the treatment, however there is an upcoming surgery along with continued chemotherapy in the near future for him. Loukas’s family and friends are supporting him tirelessly during this difficult time.
My fiancé, Per, and I started a GoFundMe for Loukas. This was done to assist with his medical expenses, so that he can focus his energy on getting better instead of worrying about financial burdens. In addition, we decided to participate in a race each month until the end of 2016 to raise funds for Loukas in the hopes that 2017 will be a new beginning for him.
We completed our first race today at the Manchester Half Marathon where Per completed it in 1:45:35 and I completed it in 2:25:44. The second race will begin on 20th November at the Tatton Park Half Marathon, and the last race we’ll run is scheduled for the 4th December which is the Manchester United Santa (5km) Run. Throughout the fundraising we will keep you updated on Loukas’s status and the results of our races. All donations raised will go directly to Loukas to help with his expenses and to rebuild his life after his treatment is completed.
