Hi there! My name is Tori Vernier, and I am the owner of Cheerleading Techniques Academy (with Tori) in Louisville, Ohio. I started my business in 2023 with the intention to help our younger generation in the community prepare for the middle school and high school level of cheerleading because I saw this need in our community. I took over the cheerleading program at Louisville High School in 2021, and ever since, I have been set on improving the program and giving these kids in the community a structured, safe place.
Within my first year of business, my classes were booming, and we needed more space. I then made the decision to expand, which definitely took a financial toll on my business. This has never been about the money. I never increased my class, open gyms, or private lesson prices, and I let all Louisville athletes come in and out as they please as an open facility because I coach for Louisville. But unfortunately, because of the expansion, with no financial increase in classes, we haven't been able to pay off the equipment we currently have, and we can't fund any additional equipment for our athletes. So, I am pushing aside my pride and taking this step to ask our community, and surrounding communities that we have also reached within this past year, for some help.
My small dream to help our community has been so successful that I have even started leaking into surrounding areas and helping their athletes as well (Minerva, Marlington, West Branch, Waterloo, Tuslaw, Hoover, Canton, Alliance, and so many others). But with equipment needs, and paying off current equipment, furniture, etc., I am in a position where it's time for me to seek help from my community, cheer families, and friends in order to keep growing and investing in the younger generations around us.
If you live in Louisville, there's probably a good chance I have worked with your daughter, sister, cousin, best friend, classmate, teammate, etc. If you live in a surrounding area, the probability is also getting much higher - which is what I want! But what I want to NOT do is raise my prices. If anything, I want to come down even more in the future. I do not ever charge start-up fees, monthly fees just for athletes in classes or drop-ins, there are no tryout fees, and I am very flexible with payment from my families and cater to what they need.
My goal is to use this as a main fundraiser for my business, and use it as a help to keep providing these athletes with what they need, at a low or even no cost at times. Again, this is something that is harder for me to do because I have not had any financial help along this journey. If you don't want to give money, you can also reach out and donate equipment as well. Anything helps, and we are so extremely blessed to be where we are today and want nothing more than to keep going and being an affordable option, a safe space for families, and a successful program if your athletes cheer on one of our teams.
