Lousie Hyland a Fighter
Donation protected
To all who see this gofundme, I (as well as many other classmates) have never reached out and asked for money nor thought about making one of these, but in the past 2 years my classmates and I at CUI have grown close to the strongest and most loving individuals, Louise Hyland.
To describe Louise Hyland in one word would be fighter. She's fought growing up in South Africa to get where she is today, she's fought and beaten breast cancer, she's fought and raised two children, she's fought by the side of many other cancer patients, and she's fought for her ability to go to Concordia and get her diploma. To many people who will read this, a college degree to Louise is more than just an accomplishment, it was her promise to herself when she beat breast cancer.
Now, she's is completing her last month at Concordia and financial aid has decided to fight back. They are attempting to prevent her from walking and withholding her diploma. She will graduate with a 3.75 GPA, if they let her, and has been chosen as a possible graduation speaker. Louise has accepted a fellowship at UCLA where she will be both teaching and working towards her masters in African Studies, however, this is not possible if Financial Aid prevents her from graduating in May.
Louise would never reach out by herself, so a classmate and I are looking for some people to fight with her to help her achieve her dream. Anything helps as she is working at least 3 jobs, being a full time student, and a fighter to make this work! Please help or share her story!
