Louisa and Sonora 2022-23 Raft Fund

Hello, Army!

WELLLLLL, it's been a helluva few years, amiright? Terrible, horrible, no-good, very bad day/week/month/year/start of a decade. But for one of our own, it has been an absolute crapfest meets windfarm lo these last few years. Our dearest Louisa has been battling the health goblins and, yiiiikes, but they are giving her some GRIEF.

There is oh so much terribleness that has gone down. Our love Louisa doesn't like to be the one complaining, so most of us don't know how bad it's REALLY gotten. Here is a Cliff Notes version:

Covid... super bad, in bed kind. In March 2020, so no one knew what she had. Doctors thought it could be meningitis or multiple sclerosis or leukemia or myasthenia gravis or lupus... the list goes on.

Long Covid... not recovering from Covid as some people do. Ongoing, and see above. Symptoms get progressively worse...

An Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome diagnosis. This can be triggered by something like, you guessed it, Long Covid. Ongoing, and also

POTS

and sinus tachycardia

and GERD

Finally, getting a port for fluids to help the symptoms of EDS. And that works!! But then, after a few good months:

Stupid blood infection via the port. Louisa spent weeks battling the infection outpatient but finally had to spend over a week in the hospital with twice-daily antibiotic infusions.

Louisa needs to stay home to rest. And that means no paychecks.

So when the seas are this rough, we must come together and support our friends through the storm. Louisa and Sonora need us to make a raft right now. Our goal is a three-month raft to float them solidly into 2023.
