Louis Thu Van Nguyen Scholarship

We've established a scholarship in the memory of our dad, Louis Nguyen, who  passed away on May 12th, 2022.  Donations to the Au Co Vietnamese Cultural Center  in San Francisco, California toward the Louis Nguyen scholarship will provide at least one annual $1000 scholarship to a college-bound high school senior.

 Our beloved Father, Louis Thu Van Nguyen passed away on May 12th, 2022, following a lengthy illness.

He served as a Lieutenant in the South Vietnamese Navy. On April 30, 1975, the day North Vietnamese Communist forces overtook the Democratic South Vietnam, our father took decisive and heroic actions that allowed our family and hundreds of other refugees to flee the country.

Our family eventually resettled in the U.S. When our parents started out, they had very little. Our father and mother worked hard, sacrificed, and saved so their children could go to college and achieve their educational and professional goals.

We love our father dearly and will miss him very much. He built a loving home for us in a new country and taught us the value of hard work, generosity toward others, and the importance of education.
