Louis Russell’s Sea Swimming Challenge

Donation protected

I'll be throwing myself in the deep end on the 2nd of July as I enter the sea at St Mawes with with just one arm able to swim... I will then head towards Pendennis Point, without a wetsuit & left arm tied by my side whilst attempting to cross this 1 mile stretch of water.

You may have seen the ice bucket challenge or even participated in it, something that is linked to ALS also know as MND. I’ve been doing something similar since winter, through going into the freezing ocean most days without a wetsuit, which in a sense has prepared me for this day. Some of you may be confused why I chose to complete this swim with just 1 arm, as my Dad once said “you can achieve anything you set your heart on” who’s first struggle with MND was with his left arm that progressively spread throughout his body. This meant from by the age of 8 I was helping him get ready for the day ahead.

I hope that you can make a difference in fighting this awful disease with me, as there are currently 5000 people in the UK right now suffering with it & donations can go towards finding a cure for it.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this, I really do appreciate it!
