In Loving Memory of Louis R. Statler

Louis R. Statler was a proud Vietnam veteran, a devoted husband of 56 years, and a man whose humor, compassion, and larger-than-life personality touched everyone he met.

We are asking for support to honor Louis in the way he deserves. Donations will cover the costs of his cremation and funeral service as well as help ease Jackie’s financial burden during her difficult and unexpected loss. Any additional funds from donations with be given to the Angelmans foundation as Louis wanted.

Louis lived a full life of service, laughter, and love. After serving his country in Vietnam, he proudly owned his own bait shop (he was a fisherman through and through), worked security at the Byron, Illinois Nuclear Plant, and later became a beloved security guard at Santa Fe Christian School in California.

Louis and Jackie built a marriage rooted in true love and devotion. Together, they created a lifetime of memories with their family. Louis took great joy in always caring for the people he loved.

Though he endured the loss of his grandson Jared in 2003 and his son Richard in 2009, Louis carried their memories with love and, shortly before his passing, he said that he found comfort and solace in knowing they would be waiting for him with open arms.

He will be remembered for his witty sense of humor, endless stories, compassion for others, and the way he lit up every room he entered. Louis was deeply loved and respected, always putting others before himself, and leaving behind countless memories for those fortunate enough to have known him.

Please consider donating to help give Louis the memorial he deserves and reduce the financial strain of his sudden passing for his wife. Any contribution, no matter the size, will help honor his legacy and ensure his memory continues to live on in the hearts of all who loved him.
