Louis “SHONUFF” Nelson Funeral Expenses
Donation protected
Hello! First and foremost, we want to say thank you to everyone who is willing to contribute to this GoFundMe for our beloved Louis "SHONUFF" Nelson. He was someone who was loved by many and we greatly appreciate any and all donations given to help pay for some of his funeral and medical expenses that have arose. If you have any questions or would like to speak regarding anything, please contact Jermaine Nelson.
Louis Nelson was born in Opp, Alabama on 5/31/1958. He is survived by 4 children, 5 grandchildren, and 1 sister. He served 20 years in the Army as a staff sergeant which he carried over into his 13 year career with the Big M Automotive Group. Louis Nelson passed the morning of 11/2/2021 in Elizabethtown, Ky.
As many of you know, Louis loved being a tanker in the Army. If he had his way he would have gone back and served his country all over again. His entire office was decorated in medals and memorabilia. He always had a story to tell regarding his time there. Whether it be on the field or of his life in the Army. That man lived his life to the fullest.
Another thing Louis bled for was his Alabama football. Roll Tide. He LOVED Alabama football and made sure everyone knew about it. One thing he loved more then Alabama football, was watching Alabama with his youngest son Isaiah “Noodle” Nelson. Those two were inseparable every weekend from Friday night lights, Alabama football Saturdays to working Big M Chevy’s lots on Sundays. Noodle never left his side and enjoyed every minute of it.
Louis was always the happiest, loudest person in a room. You knew when he was ready to pop off with a joke when he would start tap dancing his way through the room.
He also never met a stranger! Regardless if you met the man for 5 minutes or knew him for 5 years. Louis had a nick name for you. He will always be remembered for something. Never anything bad. But, there is always a funny, happy memory of Louis that each one of us are able to share. He always had something off the wall to say to you. I believe that his randomness is what attracted people to him. Louis always knew how to make you smile even when you didn't know that is what you needed.
One memory that I think will be able to highlight Louis as a person is the time that Jermaine was playing football at North Hardin High School his Junior year. Louis was at the top of the stands being the LOUDEST individual there. Cheering his son on and making sure that everyone knew he was the best player on the field. As embarrassing as that is for a teenager, looking back now that is something to hold close to your heart. No matter what you were doing; Louis always had your back and was always the loudest person in your corner cheering you on. He made sure that everyone around knew of the accomplishments you were achieving and was proud of everything you were doing.
As we finish up this memorial, we please ask that even if you are not able to donate. Please include a photo, video, or memory that you have of Louis. He was an amazing individual and we really look forward to seeing how many lives he touched. This is something that we will look back on are some of the memories that he shared with everyone. We greatly appreciate everyone for their time and condolences.
Louis, have a 7&7 for all of us in heaven.
