Louis Mallory III Hospital and Burial expenses

Donation protected
When I saw her name on the caller ID on my phone the afternoon of July 9, I just knew that when I answered the phone it was not going to be good news. But I was not prepared for the anguish I heard in Marsha's voice, telling me that her beloved husband, Louis Mallory III, had left this earth and returned to his Father in heaven, that his 5 month battle with pancreatic cancer had come to an end. I was so lost in finding the right words to her agonizing question, "What now? What do I do??". I'm still trying to find the right words but my fight not flight kicked in and here we are, helping this family in the best way we can at this time.

For those of you who know the Mallory family, you may not have known that Louis was diagnosed in February of 2020 with pancreatic cancer. I saw him at church one morning, probably the last time I saw him there, and noticed that he'd lost a considerable amount of weight. It was about a month later that Marsha asked me to remove him from the lector schedule for mass, that he was battling some health issues but he'd let me know when he was ready to read again. Another month passed, I sent Marsha a text asking how Louis was doing and her response was simple, that he needed prayers and was in the battle of his life. Now here we are, 5 months later, still stunned by his passing, something they were not expecting to happen so quickly.

National parks, crossword puzzles, ANYTHING Louisiana, his faith in God, the LA Dodgers, all music, from classical to rap...those were some of the passions in Louis' life. But his true love, what kept him going every day, was the love and passion that he felt for his beautiful wife Marsha and their two children, Louis IV (15 ) and Nyla (11). His eyes would shine when he spoke of his family, you could really see that they are what really kept him going, and vice versa.

We were finally able to talk him into serving as a lector at mass so he and Nyla could serve together (she is an altar server) at the 6:30am mass every Sunday. "I'm here, I might as well do it..." But when he walked up to that ambo and proclaimed the Word of God, because that is what he did, he had this mesmerizing effect on the congregation; his voice deep, his faith shining through in the words he proclaimed. He will be missed by those faithful early risers.

This fundraising effort has been created to assist Marsha in paying for Louis'  hospital bills (he was in the hospital for a month before he passed), the costs associated with mortuary and his burial and any other expenses that the family has at this time.

I know that Marsha and her children are so appreciative of all of the love and support they are receiving. They are a very private family and Louis' passing has rocked their foundation so if you have reached out and have not heard back, please don't be concerned but know that they feel your arms around them from afar. Feel free to send me a private message if you'd like their PO box.

If you are a lover of music, if you're into crossword puzzles, if you like to take trips to visit our nation's parks...if you have a child in Catholic school or serve in ministry at your church...if you are from Louisiana or are an LSU or Saints fan, if you bleed Dodger Blue... if you believe in God... if you simply want to help a friend or stranger in need, please consider donating to this fund to help Marsha, Louis IV and Nyla as they move forward in their new normal. NO gift amount it too small. If you are unable to help the Mallory family financially at this time, I know for a fact they would also accept your prayers.

On behalf of the Mallory family, thank you...
