Hi, I’m Taryn Keyser, and as some of you know, I recently lost my sweet Louis boy. He was the sweetest cat — so deeply loved and gone too soon.
Since losing Louis, I’ve been searching for a way to turn my grief into purpose, and I need your support. I’ve been working closely with Furry Friends Foundation, a nonprofit organization here in Los Angeles, volunteering my time to help these incredible animals and support the owner of the foundation, Gene, who truly is a one-man show. The love, dedication, and sacrifices he makes every single day for these cats is nothing short of extraordinary. Gene and Furry Friends specialize in rescuing cats off of euthanasia lists, stray litters, and sick cats - giving them a second chance at life, safety, and ultimately a loving home. But he needs help.
I’m challenging everyone I know to donate just $5 — FIVE dollars — and then pass it on to someone you know. Small acts of kindness add up quickly, and together we can create something really meaningful.
Your donations help provide:
• Medical care and vaccinations for rescued cats
• Spay and neuter procedures
• Microchipping and full vetting before adoption
• Food, litter, shelter supplies, and daily care
• Emergency medical treatment for sick and injured cats
To give some perspective on costs:
• Feed a cat for a week: $10
• Spay/neuter: ~ $250 per cat
• Routine vet exam: ~ $50
• Vaccinations: $50–$100 depending on age
• Microchipping: ~ $25
Gene’s birthday is May 29, and I would love nothing more than to surprise him with a donation in the name of Louis, my sweet foster kitten Sophie, and every other animal he tirelessly works to save and rehome each day.
If you’re able to donate, share, or help spread the word, it would mean the world to me — and to the many cats still waiting for a chance at a better life.
