Louis and Matthias's pilgrimage to Lourdes
Donation protected
Blessed Month of the Sacred Heart!
It has been an immensely graced pilgrimave thus far, from Pittsburgh to our transatlantic voyage, and now our time in Lourdes.
We so deeply appreciate everyone's support, and we ask it primarily in 3 ways:
1) Please pray with us: for Louis's complete healing, for my vocation to religious life and the priesthood, and for spiritual renewal for both of us: may we all surrender completely to God's plan for each of us!
2) Join us in giving ourselves to Jesus through Mary: As we are drawn to Lourdes by Our Lady, please come with us on our pilgrimage in spirit by growing closer to her through Marian Consecration! See here for more information: https://www.thedivinemercy.org/articles/33-days-morning-glory-introduction
3) Donate: Finally, if you are able, please donate to support us! We're now traveling earlier than originally thought, so we need your help even faster! Sailing to Europe, flying around Europe, and staying in Europe with a major physical disability is tricky and pricey. We have to travel with a lot of equipment (sit-to-stand lift, shower chair, powerchair, then our luggage) which requires us to hire private ground transportation which also tends to be costly. Louis needs a roll-in shower, which is very tricky to find (and pay for if you can find it!) in European hotels, especially in Lourdes. We deeply, deeply appreciate your support!
Now, past the original $15,000, we have encounteres unforeseen additional expenses for which we need your help:
Cost of new powerchair charger (I accidently fried it on a 240V outlet, my fault): $300
Cost to Federal Express said charger to our hotel in Lourdes: $200
Cost of renting a European charger: ~$120
Cost of paying servers on board Queen Mary 2 (unforeseen charges): $480
Cost of phone plan to manage power chair needs and contact doctor in America for Louis's UTI (he's better now, thank God!): $70
Also, there are overall more expenses than we originally expected for getting food along the way.
For these reasons, we are asking for an additional $2000.
If you want your donation to not be subject to transfer fees from GoFundMe (2.9% and an additional $0.30 for each donation), feel free to reach out to me by clicking the "contact" button below and we can arrange for your donation to reach us directly (I can do Zelle, or Venmo, @mjcmahoney).
