Louie's Recovery: Overcoming Paralysis Costs

Hello! My name is Karin Gates and I am in need of help for my sweet pup, Louie. He is a Red Heeler mix and on Wednesday, 2/19/2025, he somehow ruptured a disc in his neck. He is a very active dog so we are not sure exactly what he did to cause the injury. Due to this, he became completely paralyzed. He was not able to move any of his legs. Thankfully, I was able to get him to the emergency vet office and they were able to perform surgery to repair the disc. As of this morning (2/21/2025), Louie has regained use (very limited use so far) of all his legs. He is still in the hospital but I expect to take him home Saturday or Sunday. The total cost of his surgery and aftercare is estimated at $10,000. I am trying to do whatever I can to get the money so I can help my sweet boy recover. Louie is the sweetest dog you can meet (as long as you aren’t another dog, lol). He is definitely a people person. He is only 8 years old and I want to be sure he lives a full life and stays happy. He means the world to me and I am willing to do whatever possible to help him. If you are able to help, anything is appreciated (even if you can only share my request).
