Louie is a 4 year old miniature dachshund. He recently became a big brother to his human sister Zoey! Louie is extremely special to us and way more than just a “pet”, he is part of our family. Energetic and playful are only two small words to describe him. Unfortunately during all of his play he suffered an injury to his spine & back legs. IVDD is extremely common in his breed & we want to do everything in our power to save his life but also allowing him to still have some normalcy. He is currently on steroids but continues to have zero function in his hind legs leaving him paralyzed. Louie is so young and deserves a better chance and the ability to move and maybe play in the yard with his new sister one day. Recently becoming new parents and a stay at home mom put financial strain on us making us incapable of getting him the surgery that he needs. Feeling as if i failed him, i need to try everything first and asking for help is extremely hard for us but there is nothing i wouldn’t try for our boy. We love him more than anyone could possibly imagine and want to thank each and everyone of you for believing in him & giving him this chance even though it may be a long shot.
