This is my 4-year-old kitty, Louie.

A week ago Thursday, he went missing. I was pretty sure he had been run over by a car and that I would not see him again. Just when hope was slipping away, on Monday evening (5 days later), Louie miraculously found his way back home, but he was barely recognizable.

He had suffered major trauma: a multiple jaw fracture, his canine tooth was embedded in his mouth, and his left eye was forced out of his socket. We're not sure what he exactly endured out there, but it's clear he fought hard to return to us.

Louie received emergency care that evening. Unfortunately, the veterinarians were unable to do all the surgeries required. Two days later, we were able to get him into urgent care for surgery to remove his eye and his displaced canine tooth. One fracture of the three in his jaw was able to be wired. The other two fractures in his jaw require a specialized dental veterinarian, which would be an additional cost of $7,000 to $9,000, beyond the $6,000 we spent already on his care and surgeries.

Louie did have a feeding tube in place, although he can eat and drink on his own to some extent. However, his spirit is good, and he is really happy to be back home, and so are we!

We're asking for help towards Louie's medical costs, especially since I have a significant medical expense from my surgery for my broken ankle, that I am still recovering from. All of these medical costs have been very overwhelming. Any support or donations of any amount would mean so much for us and Louie. As well as sharing this fundraiser with others, we would be in such gratitude!
