Louie’s biggest match yet fighting bone cancer at age 12

I’m writing this with immense sadness as we’ve received news that every parent dreads. Our player and teammate, 12-year-old Louie Pickles — one of the kindest, most caring, and loveable young people you could ever meet — has been diagnosed with bone cancer. This has come as a huge shock to his family and to everyone who knows him.

Louie is due to start chemotherapy next week, and heartbreakingly, he will spend Christmas — which is also his 13th birthday — in hospital undergoing treatment. This will then be followed by further treatment

On top of this devastating situation, both of Louie’s parents are self-employed. His mum, Chloe, who runs her own salon during what should be her busiest time of year, has had to cancel all her appointments. His dad, Dan, works as a roofer and, especially at this time of year, work can be unpredictable. As you can imagine, they both want and need to be by Louie’s side throughout his treatment.

To support the family during this extremely tough time, a group of us are completing a 24-hour walk to help raise funds. Any donation, no matter how small, would mean so much to Louie and his family. Your support would be deeply appreciated.
