Louie's Army: Help Louie's Fight Against Leukemia
Donation protected
We are reaching out to you with heavy hearts, but unwavering hope. Our spunky, adorable and sweet 4 year old cousin Louie, has been diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL), and we are starting this GoFundMe campaign to rally around him and his family during this challenging time.
On August 9, 2023, my cousin Stacey and her husband Ryan received news no parents ever want to hear “Your child has cancer”. Louie has pre B cell ALL, which is a very treatable form of leukemia. His doctors are optimistic and happy to say he’s responded very well to his treatment.
The long journey of treatment, side effects and ER visits has been the new normal for Louie. Over the past five months, Louie has been fighting like a true champion. Even finding the time to play and wrestle with his younger sister, Zaddie. He even finds the humor of having lost his hair by sticking suction darts on his head!
Louie is a spirited and resilient child who loves superheroes, dinosaurs, Toy Story, playing with his dogs and sister, and dreaming big. His infectious laughter has brought joy to our lives, but now he faces the toughest battle of all. His family is doing everything in their power to ensure Louie receives the best medical care, but the financial burden is overwhelming. Ryan has taken a leave from work to be the primary caretaker for Louie, as cancer took away his ability to attend daycare with his friend and instead he must spend a good deal of time at various medical appointments as part of his treatment plan, and Stacey is working full-time as the best dog groomer in Northern Virginia!
Chemotherapy, other medications, hospital stays, travel expenses to Louie’s appointments and the inevitable ER tips, and other associated costs are taking a toll on the family's resources. Despite having insurance, the out-of-pocket expenses are increasing as each day goes by. We're reaching out to our community, friends, and even strangers who may be moved by Louie’s story to help ease the financial strain.
Here's how your contribution can make a difference:
$50: Help cover the cost of essential medications.
$100: Contribute to transportation and parking costs for regular hospital visits.
$250: Support the family with daily living expenses during this challenging time.
$500 and above: Contribute to ongoing medical bills, ER Visits and treatment costs.
Even small contributions add up and can make a big difference.
For those of you who know Stacey and Ryan, you know that asking for financial help is not one that they take likely! Your support, whether big or small, will make a significant impact on Louie’s journey to recovery. Beyond the financial aspect, your thoughts, prayers, and well wishes are invaluable
Even if you are unable to help financially, please consider sharing this campaign with your network. Together, we can be a ray of hope for Louie and his family as they navigate this difficult path.
Let's surround Louie with love and strength, showing him that he is not alone in this fight. Thank you for being a part of our journey and for any support you can provide.
With gratitude,
Family and friends of Louie
