Hi. 
My best friend in the whole wide world is sick and I need your help. 
Louie, my 6 year old Doberman, has a bowel obstruction that is making him very sick. The doctor's are recommending emergency surgery to remove it. Unfortunately, this surgery will cost thousands of dollars to perform, and I am unable to bear the financial burden on my own.
He is currently in the hospital (Animal Kind in Park Slope) where he will stay over night, and we will assess his need for surgery tomorrow morning. 
If you've ever met Louie, you know how special he is. 
If you've ever met me, you know how special he is to me.
