We are Resiliath from St. Brigid's College in Loughrea Co. Galway and this year we will compete for Ireland at the Formula One in Schools World Finals in Dammam, Saudi Arabia and Doha, Qatar.

The F1 in Schools World Final is widely regarded as the premier global STEM competition for second level students and there will be 65 teams from countries across 5 continents competing at this year’s finals where we will be proudly flying the flag for Ireland. The competition is supported by Formula 1 Motorsport and will run in conjunction with this years Qatar Grand Prix.

As Irish National Champions we are determined to represent Loughrea, Galway and Ireland with pride on the world stage, and we really need your support to help us on our journey.
To compete at the World Finals, our team must totally self finance all elements of our participation, including all our costs around travel, accommodation, equipment, materials, team wear and participation fees.

With your support, raising our funding target will enable us to achieve our goal and represent our school and locality with distinction at this unique event. Our goal is to show the world that Ireland's young people are able to lead the way for engineering, science, business and innovative thinking, and we are determined to be crowned F1 in Schools World Champions for 2024!

We firmly believe we have the drive, determination and ability to win gold for Ireland on the world stage, and we are so appreciative of any support you can give us on this amazing journey.

Help us to reach our fundraising goal in time for our November 20th departure date and play a vital part in helping us to represent St. Brigid's College, Loughrea, Galway and Ireland at the highest level.

Thank you,
Resiliath - Dahami, Om, Solé, Aisling & Bibin

What is the F1 in Schools Competition?

Founded in 2004, F1 in Schools is the largest global STEM competition for young people, with almost 30 million students participating worldwide. The competition is closely affiliated with Formula 1 Motorsport. It promotes skills in key areas of design, engineering, scientific research, teamwork, collaboration, marketing and entrepreneurship. Our team will design and manufacture a 1/20th scale CO2 powered F1 racing car that will be capable of travelling at speeds in excess of 120km/hr. We use advanced 3D design software and CNC manufacturing technology to create our design. The F1 in Schools challenge is not just about speed. We will also be judged on the quality of our engineering, graphic design, portfolios, media skills, marketing, sponsorship and verbal presentation skills.

St. Brigid's College is the most successful Irish school in the 20 year history of the F1 in Schools Competition. Since first participating in 2015, students from St. Brigid's have won 6 National Titles and represented Ireland at World Finals in Texas, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Abu Dhabi and Silverstone in the UK.
