Lou Tou Yang

It is with great sadness to announce the sudden and unexpected passing of our beloved baby brother, Lou Tou Yang. He was just 28 years old; the youngest of 12 siblings. He was full of life, always positive and smiling, and cracking jokes. He loved to sing, box, play basketball, and play games with his cousins/nephews/friends on his PlayStation.

A year ago, after feeling sick for quite some time, Lou Tou was diagnosed with IGA Nephropathy. Despite the challenges he would have to face, he was ready to face it head on. In the last year, he underwent peritoneal dialysis to treat kidney failure. It was a tough year as he continued to have several complications with this type of dialysis treatment. Regardless, he always remained in high spirit and remained positive through it all. Finally, at the direction of his medical team, he switched to an AV fistula to continue dialysis treatment while waiting for a donor. This procedure took place on October 18, 2023, and was completed without any complications. The morning of October 21, 2023, aside from feeling a little sore in the arm where the fistula was inserted, he was feeling good. There were no signs of what was about to come later that night; the tragic horror that awaited his older brother who found his lifeless body.

We are shocked, devastated, completely heart broken and at loss with his passing. So many questions and in disbelief. We were under the impression that he was doing well but maybe those complications were not corrected as we had thought. Maybe the two emergency dialysis catheters he had to undergo was too much for his body. We may never know the answers to that but what we do know is that he was loved deeply by his family and friends, and his passing left a deep void in our hearts.

We are reaching out for the community’s generous help. We asked that you please consider donating, share this page, and/or keep our family in your prayers. This will help us greatly as we navigate life without the love and presence of our little brother. All is welcome and will be deeply appreciated.
