Lotus Counseling Services started with a vision and a passion to help girls develop into strong, confident, fearless, healthy women. The lotus flower grows from deep mud, through murky water, to produce a beautiful blossom. This symbolism is so powerful that we feel it perfectly represents the transformation we want our clients to experience.
Our mission is to help all girls and women overcome any obstacles and adversities they are facing in order to achieve their goals.
We do this through 3 steps:
1) Encouragement- We provide support and affirm our clients' abilities to make any changes they want to see in their lives
2) Enlightenment- Maya Angelou stated, "Do the best you can until you know better. Then, when you know better, do better." We value this philosophy as we provide guidance and counseling to help our clients identify problems, self destructive thoughts/patterns/behaviors, as well as identify their inner strength to make changes.
3) Empowerment- Through encouragement and enlightenment our clients gain confidence in themselves to blossom into their full potential.
We plan to launch Lotus this September. We will be one of the only counseling groups in Alabama specializing in women's issues. We will be providing individual counseling, group counseling, classes, and workshops. Our counseling services are broad in scope and include:
-sexual abuse trauma and recovery
-domestic violence
-divorce
-substance abuse
-self esteem
-bullying
-parenting
-mood disorders
-personality disorders
-play therapy
Beginning summer 2017 we will launch our Butterfly Camp for girls ages 6-18. We will be hosting week long (age appropriate) camps all over the state of Alabama focusing on self esteem, confidence, body image, bullying, and overall female empowerment.
