The Little Lottie Fundraiser
Donation protected
We are raising funds dedicated to the memory of our little girl Lottie born sleeping 9th September 2024 at Wythenshawe’s St Mary’s Hospital. Lottie was born sleeping at 39 weeks and 5 days after a healthy pregnancy with no complications. The charity Tommy’s state 60% of stillbirths are unexplained. St Mary’s care for, on average, 150 families a year that experience the devastating and life changing loss of their babies either due to stillbirth, miscarriage or neonatal death.
Nothing can prepare you for the devasting news your baby has died; nothing anyone can say to you can change the outcome. The pain is unimaginable. The staff at Wythenshawe Hospital have been incredible, they have been compassionate, caring, thoughtful and supportive and sensitive during a very difficult and sad time. On 9th September 2024 our beautiful little girl Lottie was delivered by caesarean section at 5.12pm weighing 7lb, she was perfect. Loosing our baby at full term felt overwhelmingly cruel. We spent two days with Lottie in the Snowdrop Suite, where we made precious memories. The Lotus Team (bereavement midwives) have been crucial to making such an awful time manageable and their continued support is greatly appreciated.
All funds raised will go towards creating a small charity dedicated to Lottie's memory. The charitable funds will be used to support the Snowdrop Suite and Lotus Team at St Mary’s Hospital. The Lotus Team provides bespoke specialist care to women and their families during pregnancy loss. The small team provide care across the delivery suite, birth centre, clinics and the community.
The Snowdrop Suite is a self-contained room for bereaved parents to spend time with their babies privately away from the maternity ward. Next to the Snowdrop Suite is Lilys Room, this is where your precious baby is kept when they are not with you and cared for by the bereavement midwives. The suite has facilities including a small kitchen, bathroom, double bed, sitting area and cuddle cot for your baby which is funded purely by charitable donations.
Often when these tragic events occur, they are completely unexpected, partners, families, friends seldom have many belongings with them. We want to support the Snowdrop Suite and Lotus Team to ensure these things are taken care of.
