Hi guys this gofundme is for Lothar. When diagnosed with stage 4 Hodgkin’s lymphoma last year we were preparing for the worst and fighting our hardest to stay positive to get through this. From all the medicine and all the prayers, lothar was placed in remission in October 2021.
Sadly, in March of this year, Lothar started feeling a weird pain in his chest again, his family and I pushed him to tell the doctor. They did another pet scan and found a small mass by his sternum. A couple weeks later, lothar had surgery for a biopsy to see if it was cancer again. After surgery he had complications and ended up with fluid in his lungs, he needed to be on oxygen for about a week before being able to come home. After speaking to his oncologist we found out, that unfortunately, his cancer is back.
Upon receiving this news, shortly we were informed about his next plan for treatment. He will have to do 4 sessions of chemo and unfortunately have a stem cell transplant which will have him hospital bound for 3 weeks receiving a very high dose of chemo while they purify his cells and put them back. This stem cell transplant will leave him with a lot of secondary side effects. Some include feeling extremely fatigued, exhausted, nausea, and have a very low immune system for the next few months. As we learn more about this treatment, stem cell transplants can also be very expensive. During this time and after his transplant, Lothar won’t be able to work for a few months and will have to be extra cautious with where he goes and who he’ll see. He will also be out of a job until he is able to recover from this difficult time. The past 2 years have been very painful physically, emotionally, and mentally for him and his family. We were extremely touched, blessed, and grateful with everyone’s donations the first time his cancer appeared last year. If there is anything anyone can donate to help him during his second battle with cancer, it would mean the world to him and his family.
We ask everyone, to please just pray for him during this time and for this cancer to finally disappear so Lothar can continue to pursue his dreams and goals in life. Anyone who knows him, knows how hard he is fighting to keep pushing through and not let this cancer bring him down again. Thank you all for being there for him during these difficult times. ♥️
