Lost home and cars due to Hurricane Ida

Hi everyone, My name is Shadira Sterling.

On September 1st 2021, my family and I lost our South Bound Brook home due to hurricane Ida. The wall in our basement collapsed hence our belongings are unsalvageable. We also have lost 2 cars. The damage caused our home to be deemed uninhabitable. We aren’t allowed to go inside the home yet to extract the undamaged belongings just on the second floor due to the unstable foundation of the house.

These funds are needed to assist us to get back on our feet and recover from our loss. We want to obtain new temporary housing in the efforts to give us some time to start the cleaning process and acquire a new home again.

This has been a very traumatic experience for my family, myself and so many others. This is just the beginning, there’s still so much more work to be done. God is faithful. We continue to trust in Him.
