This project is one that has been near and dear to my heart and has been nearly a year in the making. Our goal is to take the stories of underrepresented women in history, and bring them to life in a new staged-recital, premiering in September 2022. Three vocal pieces, written by three young women composers, will dramatize the three women's lives.
Our Story:
I am a former opera singer/lover of women's history, and wanted to commission a new work that celebrates the lives of three women: Artemisia Gentileschi, a baroque painter, Mary Shelley, author of Frankenstein, and Julie D'Aubigny, a bisexual duelist/opera singer. The three musical pieces will be written by three women composers.
What We Need
Your gift will help cover the costs of commissioning and premiering this new voice recital. With your help, we will be able to rent venues, cover musician fees, afford set design, and more. We are all artists at the beginning of our careers, and appreciate any help you can provide, big or small.
