Lost my dad to Covid
My dad was taken to the ER 12/30 where he tested positive for Covid & placed on a ventilator in ICU 1/2. Nurses were saying things were moving in the right direction & using the word “stable” numerous times until things suddenly took a turn for the worse & then he was gone. My mom & I are in shock & have to figure out a way to pay for the funeral arrangements as well as keep up on our many past due bills.

My dad was a kind hearted man who loved his family more than anything. He was a strong man and was never afraid of anything. I only ever saw him cry one time in my life - when my brother passed away.
He always worked hard and did his best to ensure that my mom & I were happy. He would give you his last penny or the shirt off his back as he was just that caring. He was also a very talented musician and was truly amazing if you ever had the opportunity to hear him play the piano, keyboard &/or the accordion. When I was younger, we’d always have family/friends over and my dad would always brighten up our gatherings with his great talent! My dad was always taking pictures & videos of our family & friends so no moment could be forgotten.
He always had so many friends & everyone that knew him would tell you what a great man he was & how selfless he was when it came to helping others out.
Unfortunately, my time with my dad was cut short when he passed 1/4/21 due to complications from Covid-19. He had been in the ER due to shortness of breath since 12/30. They started him on oxygen & next thing we knew he was in the ICU on a ventilator, heavily sedated. Nurses told us that the ventilator would allow more time for my dad’s body to fight the virus and heal without having to focus on just breathing which his body was working so hard to do. My mom & I were able to see him via FaceTime twice while in ICU although he was not conscious/responsive we still talked in hopes that he could still hear us. My mom & I spent our new year’s at home alone full of worry waiting for the next update from the hospital praying for some good news which never came. We were not allowed to be there with him & did not have a chance to actually say goodbye as the last time we ever saw him was via FaceTime.
My dad was a fighter & I was so sure he would make it home eventually but Covid-19 took him away from us too soon! The house is so empty now without my dad here. Our family went from 4 people to 2 people in a matter of years. He will always be remembered and missed dearly.
My mom & I are truly in shock/lost/devastated without my dad here with us. I have created this gofundme in hopes of raising money to help us cover all the costs associated with my dad’s funeral and such.
My mom & I are currently unemployed due to the pandemic & while we have been struggling to make ends meet for months now, the struggle has now become impossible to manage on our own.
We thank you in advance for any contribution.
Stay safe!
