Here we go. August 1st 2024 I lost my right leg due to a staph infection. The infection was body wide. The infection made it to my spine and had to have spinal surgery as well. T9-T10. It was a long and difficult process but I lived. Its been almost a year since and we've managed with the help of family and friends. But we are getting close to losing our home. 11 months and we are only 2 payments behind but getting ready to add one more missed payment. Disability has not been approved yet but finally it's been assigned to a medical examiner. So hopefully soon it'll be approved. We are just asking for help to keep from losing our home. I have been looking for work for several months. I've been on several interviews. They start off as phone interviews and they go great! They invite me to in person interviews and want to show me around the building. But as soon as they see the prosthetic leg? The tone changes and I never hear from them again. No call backs. They don't answer my calls. Sometimes the position no longer exists. I've finally found a job that would work with me but I've worked 25 hours in 2 and a half months. But I won't give up finding a job. In the meantime, we just don't want to lose our home. We would appreciate any help at all!! Thank you for taking the time to read this.
