On Saturday, May 2nd, my dad lost everything. The home he spent the last two years building with his own two hands was gone in a matter of moments. What was once his safe place, his pride, and his hard work is now nothing but ashes. We are beyond grateful that he made it out alive. That alone is a blessing we don’t take lightly. But the heartbreak doesn’t stop there. Two of his three beloved dogs didn’t make it out of the fire. Anyone who knows my dad knows how much his dogs meant to him. They were family. Losing them has been one of the most painful parts of this tragedy.

Right now, he is starting from nothing. We are asking for help to: Clear the burned rubble and debris Replace essential tools and materials to rebuild his home Purchase a truck (his was destroyed in the fire) so he can haul materials and remove debris Get a generator so he has access to basic electricity while rebuilding He lives in a rural area of Rio Rancho, which makes transportation and power not just helpful but necessary for survival and rebuilding.

My dad is one of the hardest-working people I know. He didn’t ask for help when he built his home the first time. He just put his head down and did the work. But this time, he can’t do it alone.
