5:05 pm Manzi I were on a call and Sorrel was having a late afternoon nap when Manzi smelled smoke. She walked out into the meadow and gasped. Just over the hill was an enormous plume of smoke. We grabbed our bags and woke up Sorrel and went to our cars. 5:15 After making sure all our land mates and kids were accounted for and had a ride, we drove away. By approximately 5:25 our house was ablaze. We lost everything except the clothes we were wearing and a few things in our cars and bags. Fortunately no one was hurt. Our neighbors' homes were saved. Our town has already shown us amazing generosity, fed and clothed and housed us. We have renters' insurance. We will eventually be able to replace what can be replaced, but it will be a long process to make our claim. Any generosity from you will help us bridge the gap before then.
Gratefully,
Manzi, Graeme & Sorrel
