Scott Murray
Written by his sister
He lived in a beautiful mobile home park which he lost in the fire. He recently paid off his trailer and the day after the fire was when his homeowners insurance was going to kick in. As did so many people, he lost everything including his cat. He made sure 12 of the residents were evacuated safely before he himself left. He did bring a tenant, Charlie, with him to Santa Rosa who had no family and didn’t drive. He truly barely made it out. Scott is on a fixed income but does painting jobs to earn extra money. He’s been a painter for 40 yrs. His sprayer, brushes, ladders and other painting supplies were lost. Scott and I grew up in Santa Rosa with four other siblings. He wants to relocate to Santa Rosa or at least the Sonoma County area. He is doing pretty good with clothing. Your supplying dog food is incredibly generous. It feels awkward asking for anything. He could use gas money. He lost his eye glasses in the fire. If you could spread the word for painting jobs that would be great. We would love to find a granny unit or even him trading work for housing. With our own fire in SR last year housing has become sparse and expensive. We have a small room behind our garage that he will be staying. Unfortunately it doesn’t have a bathroom or water. When he does find someplace, that is when he will need everything to furnish it. So for now I would request painting supplies/products, gas, painting job offers and ultimately affordable housing. He lives on $920 a month. He is the kindest, honest and most loving person who cares about others before himself.
