We never thought we would find ourselves in this situation, but life can be incredibly unpredictable. We are Adrian and Houssem, and we are reaching out to you today in the face of unimaginable loss.

On September 28, 2023, our lives were forever changed when a devastating fire swept through our home in Iqaluit, Nunavut. In an instant, we lost our house and everything we owned. As immigrants who have worked tirelessly for years to create a home in this beautiful but harsh environment, this loss has been absolutely heart-wrenching.

The winters in Iqaluit are unforgiving, and the support we need goes far beyond just a roof over our heads. We humbly ask for your assistance in helping us rebuild our lives from the ground up.

We are not just dealing with the loss of our homes and possessions; we are also coping with the recent passing of Houssem's beloved mother on October 2, 2023. The weight of these simultaneous losses is incredibly heavy. Your emotional support and kind words mean the world to us during this difficult time.

Your contributions will help us replace essential items as the fire consumed everything we owned, from clothing to household items. We also need assistance with food and daily necessities. Contributions will also help with temporary accommodation and travel since Houssem left the country and is dealing with the loss of their mother.
