Hi everyone, my name is Makenzi Larimer. I am the daughter/ executive chef and catering manager over at Coco’s N Moes. My family and I moved here back in 2014. You may know my parents as Amber (Coco my mom) and Ben (Moe my dad). They started their business here in Gardnerville.Nevada officially back in 2016 with their restaurant Cocomoes. As many of you know, we had moved into a building over on 1404 US Highway 395 with the name Coco’s On Main, to continue our journey. Unfortunately we had one too many downfalls with the building. Here are some of the things that they had to deal with over there. A Total restaurant flood in the kitchen and dining room . Faulty electrical causing the restaurant to lose electricity in the kitchen and bar, Both furnaces needing repair to heat building Bad sewer lines that were cracked inside and outside causing raw sewage to seep underground and into the restaurant Leaky roof ETC… Most of the repairs were coming out of THEIR pockets. All of the above caused the business to close and move into the new building over on 1799 Ironwood Drive. My parents moved over into the new building with high hopes of not having to deal with ANYTHING MORE, of what they already have gone through. Soon enough, with our restaurant not even being opened a month..the issues have already begun, which has financially impacted them tremendously. We already have had backed up drains. (The drain problem was cured) a full grease trap from the neighboring restaurant causing us to close. To add onto that, The faulty HVAC system has completely blown out and is toast. Which is causing us to be closed..AGAIN..until further notice. The owner of 1799 is taking care of the HVAC, but we don’t know when that will happen. Everyday of being closed is lost revenue, and that is what is hard to replace. I am writing all of this because my parents passion for what they do deserves to continue on. They love to help others, support other local businesses, love to fundraise. I could go on. All they love to do is give in this community. And that’s all they wanna keep on doing. This was the last thing I wanted to see happen to their business, and I as their daughter will do anything in my power to help, which is why I am saying something. I thank all of you for all the love and support you have given them throughout this whole thing, and for staying by their sides. Thank you.
