Loss of Mother at 17 years old.

Donation protected
Arlene Shea Kalinowski, 57, left us unexpectedly on December 16th, 2020.

Arlene leaves behind her two sons, Raymond Murray, 31, and Michael Murray, 30, and “her tiny little miracle” of a daughter, her pride and joy, Katherine (Katie) Kalinowski, 17.

This go fund me campaign is set up to help Arlenes’s daughter, Katherine Kalinowski.

Arlene was a devoted mother, who would do anything for her children. Her priority was to support each one of them, keep them safe and make sure they knew they were loved. Arlene was a beautiful soul, someone who always tried to see the best in others, no matter the circumstance. Arlene would give the shirt off her back even if she didn’t have one for herself. No matter the obstacle, no matter the circumstance, she never complained, even on the worst day. She always brought positivity. Her smile was big, her heart was bigger and her laugh was loud and contagious.

Katie resembles her mother in every way, from their pure genuine hearts, to their ocean blue eyes.

In the words of one of Katie’s best friends, “Kat was truly raised like a literal angel. She has morals, is so kind, is such a hard worker and would help anyone she could in a heartbeat. My favorite thing about her has to be her spontaneity and her honesty.”

My entire family always adored Katie and how purely sweet and polite she is. Hearing the same from one of her true friends, just proves how special this young woman truly is.

Katie is a soon to be graduate of Greater Nanticoke Area High School, where she’s Cheer Captain. Her high school graduation is set for a later date in 2021, due to the uncertainty of Covid-19. Katie is also soon to celebrate her 18th birthday, February 17th, 2021.

Now, in the midst of a pandemic, and upcoming holiday season, Katherine is alone, at 17 years old, without her mother by her side.

Unfortunately, years ago, Arlene had no choice but to take on the role as mother and father when Katherine’s father walked away from them both. This has made the loss of her mother especially difficult. Katie must now experience what’s left of the holiday season, her 18th birthday, high school graduation, and the start of adulthood without the support of either of her parents, something no child should ever have to endure.

Though her immediate and extended family is big and full of love, and will never let a day go by for her to doubt, she’s now left to face the world with no parental support.

I know this year has not been an easy one and it’s really testing all of our personal strength. Year 2020 has brought on much turmoil, hardships, loss and pain for most, if not all, and for that, I am so sorry if you’re struggling too. I can imagine that today’s economy and what 2020 has brought us is troubling for most. Being right before the holidays, I know this may be a lot to ask, but, if life allows you to donate anything at all, please consider.

Through this go-fund-me, I would like to support Katie with essential financial support. With your help, I would like to try to lessen the fear of navigating the world without her mother.

Even though katie is a very independent, smart, hard working young woman, whom has a job of her own, I wanted to help provide assistance with the little things in life, as simple as a new pair of shoes, or even a haircut. I want to make sure she has money for seasonal clothing and necessities. Katie will be driving soon and this may help with the purchase of a safe vehicle. I want to assist her in the costs to visit and explore new colleges and aide in the cost for schooling. Her first acceptance and scholarship was for Penn State, but as young and bright as she is, I know her options are limitless.

Most importantly, I want to lessen the worry in her heart. I want her to know she’s going to be okay.

Money cannot and will not take away this pain and heartache. Money will not bring Katie’s mother back. But, any donation may help in lessening life’s many burdens. Your thoughts, positive energy and vibes, prayers, love, support, and donations are greatly appreciated, from the bottom of my heart.

Thank you.
