Loss of a Husband, Father & American Patriot
Donation protected
On August 28th, our family suffered a tragic loss when my husband (Madison’s daddy) committed suicide due to PTSD issues. Mike was a decorated Army Veteran of 21 years. He served our county on multiple tours including Korea, Kuwait, Panama & Iraq. Mike was a Desert Storm veteran. Like many other veterans, he suffered silently with PTSD from horrific situations he encountered during his tours. Throughout the last 10 years, Mike endured many flashbacks, nightmares and situational anxiety disorders causing him great emotional pain and mental anguish. Although we never gave up on Mike, we believe he just could not cope any longer with the PTSD demons once the recent Afghanistan situation began to unravel and he gave in.
Throughout the years, we could not get a life insurance policy on Mike, as he was deemed “uninsurable”. When Mike took his life, we were devastated, knowing there was no safety net to meet our financial needs with him gone. My pride gets in the way, but I just set it aside to put this up because of the outpouring of support and those asking how they could help. Well, this is it. We have no where to turn and limited personal items to sell until survivor benefits are awarded months down the road and we see relief.
I am now a widow with a teenage daughter and we have bills, insurance premiums, therapy and necessities that are due. We are incredibly grateful for any monetary gift you would like to provide while we are healing and trying to make sense of this tragedy. We miss Mike deeply and we know he is finally at peace. Madison and I will now work through the grief process and our healing . Thank you again for all who have reached out wanting to assist. Your monetary gift is immensely appreciated.
