My Best Friend Esmeralda lost the love of her life Marcus Dalton April 14th 2021. This gofundme is to bring Esmeralda and her 3 children back home to California, where she wishes to be, in order to heal with her family and receive the support she will need from her friends as well. She loves her East Coast family very much, but at this time this is her need.
The love between Esmeralda and Marcus is truly a testament of the old saying "through thick and thin" let me explain...
It all started back in 2001 when Esmeralda caught the eye of Marcus, who had just arrived in California all the way from Baltimore, Maryland. He obviously couldn't resist himself and nor could she and it was there at the Northridge mall where they exchanged names and cell numbers. From that day forward they got to know each other better. They became inseparable, spending many days and nights together.
In 2002, they found out they were pregnant with their first child, Elijah. They started preparing for his arrival, buying miscellaneous baby items. They shared the incredible joy and excitement all parents feel when expecting a baby.
In August of 2003, Elijah Dalton was born. Despite this Blessing, there was an inevitable challenge that occurred for both. This being said, they never stopped loving each other and if anything this period in their lives allowed their love to become even stronger throughout the 10 years they were apart. There were hundreds of letters sent between them and this truly made their bond unbreakable. In those letters they would share their future dreams and aspirations, sharing what their life would look like, once they were together again, the trips they would take and what their wedding day would look like. I remember Esmeraldas talking about planning to take lots of family photos to make up for lost time.
Esmeralda is BIG on family morals and values family. She and Elijah took numerous trips during those years back to Maryland so lil Elijah would know Marcus's side of the family and learn his Baltimore roots.
Through thick and thin they stayed devoted! The letters never stopped and neither did the love between them.
The three were reunited in July 2014 when Marcus returned to Salinas, CA to be with Esmeralda and Elijah and they picked up right where they left off and started making new memories as a family. February 16th, 2016 they welcomed their baby girl Emery, and a baby boy Mahdi shortly after on November 26th, 2017. Esmeralda and Marcus's heart were complete.
In 2016 as a family, they decided to move back East to Baltimore to give themselves a fresh start and to be with Marcus's side of the family and plant their own roots. Things were going great, Esmeralda and Marcus got engaged in 2020 and started living out those plans they had written in those letters and their dreams started to come to life.
My dear friend Esmeralda dreams of growing old with Marcus came to an end April 14th, 2021.
I never thought that I'd be asking this nor thought that my friend and her children would return to California, without her soon to be husband, a devoted father to their children. As hard as this was to write, I now must ask that you please help us fund my friend's trip back home. Any amount will help and it's greatly appreciated.
