For the past three years, the Fayette County Humane Society has dedicated every ounce of our strength, our hearts, and our lives to saving the forgotten, the abandoned, and the voiceless animals of Fayette County. We have worked tirelessly—day and night—to provide shelter, medical care, and love for thousands of cats and dogs who had nowhere else to turn.

But now, we are facing a heartbreaking reality: our contract with the Fayette County Commission has ended. And with that decision, we have lost the building we’ve called home and the small amount of financial support that came with it. The commission has chosen not to stand beside us, and the animals we care for cannot wait for political battles to play out.

We are devastated. To walk away from the building we poured our souls into is gut-wrenching. To think of the animals who will no longer be greeted by our staff’s loving hands in that space is crushing. But one thing is certain—we are not giving up.

The Fayette County Humane Society will continue. We will keep saving lives. But to do that, we need your help.

Right now, we are urgently raising funds to:

• Secure a new facility where we can continue rescuing, housing, and rehabilitating animals in need. Without a building, we cannot operate, and every day that passes puts more lives at risk.

• Pay and retain our staff, the people who have given everything—physically, emotionally, and financially—to these animals. Our employees are the heart of this mission. They are the ones who feed the hungry, comfort the broken, and sit on the floor with terrified dogs until they feel safe again. Without them, this work cannot continue.

This is not just about bricks and mortar. It’s about life and death. Every donation, no matter how small, helps us keep a roof over the heads of animals who have already been through too much. It helps us keep skilled, compassionate people employed so they can continue fighting for every tail wag and every purr.
