Losing ability of vision
Donation protected
Dear everyone, my name is Sahina (34) from The Netherlands.
Recently I have been diagnosed with a very rare type of Stargart-like illness. This illness affects the eyes and starts in childhood but is not nessessarly noticable at that age. From the age of 30+ I slowly started losing my sight. In this process I now can barely see with my right eye - this will also be the case with my left eye.
This basically means that I will loose my vision permanently before the age of 45-50 because of this eye illness called PROM 1 defect in my genes.
Normally this illness is diagnosed at the age of 65+ (normal Macula Degeneration). In my case I have a defect that will start early
and unfurtunatly there’s no cure/treatment for the type I have.
I have started this campaign to achieve life goals while I still have the ability to see to enjoy these moments and make positive memories. I also need to re-train my, already 3yo dog, to become a guide dog. Selling my dog is in no way an option - she is my family, my kid. I’d rather have her by my side as my most trusted companion as a re-trained guide dog. This is going to be a long process because she is not the standard breed for a guide dog. But I am positive she can do this.
For the medical part - I need a pair of medical glasses (e-scoop 1). This is a starttype of glasses and need to be replaced every year as the condition of my eyes will worsen. Normally the insurance will cover the bills, but on condition that the sightpercentage is beneath 35%. As it is right now, only one eye is below the norm and therefor I need to pay for everything myself while I do need these tools.
I always believed in working hard and enjoy later. This has now been turned upside down with the situation I’m in now.
I ask you to help me achieve the following goals:
- medical glasses (e-scoop)
- blindproofing invoirement
- re-training guide dog (blindness)
- costs to travel and see worldsbeauty
Your generous donations are highly appreciated and I will be forever gratefull to you. Thank you.
