To all of the small businesses affected by looting and property damage, your country/state/city have failed a large portion of our population and in turn you have experienced negative repercussions. The American Dream is still real, for some, but many of our citizens have found themselves in a system that has systematically failed them repeatedly and now that pain has manifested in incidents of looting and property damage that are affecting you.
Many small businesses are insured for this type of loss and the city of Los Angeles has committed to helping, however, these broader relief efforts take time and typically cater to well-established companies that can provide all of the necessary documentation. In many cases, such programs are not successful in helping businesses that are truly in need to stay afloat.
Our goal:
We are a small group of CPAs that have the capacity to quickly assess: A. whether the businesses were affected by looting; and B. how much money it will take to recover from this loss. Our goal is to provide grants (ranging from ~$5,000 to ~$10,000) to Los Angeles-based businesses impacted by looting and property damage in connection with the George Floyd protests and will be calculated based on a claim of losses.
100% of proceeds will go to small businesses in need
Assessing businesses in need:
Businesses will be required to show proof of ownership, visual proof that their business was impacted by looting and property damage related to the George Floyd protests (photos, videos, etc.), and proof that they either do not have insurance or that their policy does not apply to this situation. Additionally, the businesses will need to demonstrate their financial performance prior to and during the recent pandemic.
We will work with the business owners to verify the information provided and allocate funds based on availability of funds, as well as the immediate needs for each business.

In your message please include the name of your business, zip code, a brief description of your losses, and any other information you feel is relevant.
