Hi everyone,

My name is Kinsley Florestal, and it is with a heavy heart that I write this blurb on behalf of myself and my family as we mourn the passing of my brother, Lorvens Florestal.

Lorvens’s unexpected passing occurred on August 29, 2021 as he was an innocent bystander and victim of senseless gun violence. Lorvens’s passing at the tender age of 19 is a complete tragedy that no one would have ever expected. It would be impossible to thoroughly and effectively describe how much Lorvens meant to all of us, but we know how amazing he was. To his family, friends, teammates and community Lorvens was always a great source of light, laughter and love. Throughout his 19 years of life, he impacted everyone he encountered with his kind heart, down-to-earth demeanor, and selfless actions.

Lorvens was an active member within his community, always giving back to those who gave to him and to those coming up in the community right after. Furthermore, as a past PROPEL student, he was really excited to return from college and give back to PROPEL because they've given him so much. He appreciated everything in life and everything he had - always providing for those who could not necessarily provide for themselves.

Lorvens had a full life ahead of him, as he recently enrolled at Charleston Southern University and began practices as a walk-on freshman Defensive End for the school’s D1 Football Team. Lorvens has left behind an overwhelming amount of amazing memories that will live in our hearts forever.

As we try to comprehend this tragedy, we humbly ask for your support. We have started this fund to help pay for a beautiful Funeral and all associated costs. We are so thankful for those who have shared this fund and for any amount that you are able and willing to donate to help lay Lorvens to rest. Please keep our family, his friends, teammates and communities within your prayers.
