Hello, my name is Monica Cortez, and I am fundraising for my cousin Rachelle Madrid, and her brother Gardell VanBeek who is currently disabled and unable to travel alone to his mother's final resting place. My cousin Rachelle at this point does not see a way to be able to get to her brother in Nebraska, and then finally to North Dakota where they will lay their mom to rest. I am asking all of my friends, and family to contribute and amount of money to this fund so that together we can make it possible for her and her brother to lay their mom to rest.

My mother Lorraine VanBeek recently passed away after suffering from dementia for many years, and a stroke.

My mom lived in North Dakota, and I live in California. I am her only daughter, and I have one brother left out of my siblings and he is disabled. I am saddened and overwhelmed at this moment trying to figure out how to get to my brother to pick him up in Nebraska and get to North Dakota for our mother's services. I was not able to be there with her when she passed, and the thought of not being there for her services really breaks my heart. She was all alone in a convalescent home, where she died because I was not able to bring her home due to her condition. I have established this Gofundme to see if I could possibly raise enough money to travel on a road trip to pick up my disabled brother and get us both to North Dakota to put my mom in her final resting place. At this time, I am unable to attend her funeral, because I do not have the money to travel cross country to be with my family. The road trip is just about 3,200 miles, so I would need money to assist me with gas, lodging, and a contribution to her headstone.
