Lorraine "Larri" Ashida during her recovery
Donation protected
Our dear and precious friend, Lorraine “Larri” Ashida, was injured on 9/11/22 in a motorcycle accident involving a semi-truck in a construction zone on I-25 in Colorado Springs. Larri suffered multiple injuries. She is still enduring a tremendous amount of pain as she awaits decisions about her future care and needs. Larri’s injuries are life-changing. Although Larri wishes to return to her home in the San Luis Valley, her future is uncertain at this time. She anticipates a long recovery that includes time in a rehabilitation facility and the possibility of future procedures and surgeries. Through all this, Larri maintains a very positive attitude and reports to be in search of a silver lining.
After all she has been through in the last few years, including the death of her sweet, 100 year-old mother Kathleen, from Covid complications, she was beginning to emerge from her grieving and truly enjoy life. If you were around her in the last few months, her happiness was notable and contagious. One of her goals was to tackle her bucket list that included many things she had waited a lifetime to attempt. One of these wishes was to ride on a motorcycle, as a helmeted passenger (of course). Unfortunately, on her ride she was involved in this life-altering accident.
As you may know, Larri is a very genuine, generous and unassuming person who would never ask for help, especially for financial help. She needs it now, and knowing Larri, she will spend the rest of her days trying to repay each and every person who donates their time and/or money. Anything you can do will be appreciated. Thank you for your love, prayers and support.
