Help Lorraine Delaney’s Family (Bonnie Corliss)
Donation protected
This is a fundraiser to help defray the funeral and end of life medical costs for Lorraine Elizabeth Delaney, on behalf of her family. She leaves behind two daughters and several grandchildren who loved her deeply. Lorraine was born on April 10, 1937 and worked for the City of Boston in the traffic division for 25 years. She was active in many community groups and, as part of her interest in community beautification, worked extensively on the development of the Southwest Corridor Park.
Several weeks ago, she entered the hospital to learn of metastatic cancer that had spread throughout her body. The last few weeks have been financially, physically, and emotionally exhausting for the family.
Lorraine had a long and full life, including pursuits such as ballroom dancing and award winning horseback riding. One of her favorite holiday traditions was to spend time visiting people who had no other family to celebrate with. She was someone who always made space in her life for people who needed community, and made anyone she met feel like family. If you know Bonnie Delaney Corliss, you have probably experienced her deeply empathetic nature, which she learned from her mom. She consistently goes out of her way to help other people, and her mother was the example she lives by.
To honor her mom, I’m hoping people will express their condolences and ease the financial burden the family finds themselves in after a quick and brutal terminal illness.
