Lorne Farrell Memorial Fund
Lt. Lorne Farrell unexpectedly passed away Sunday March 1st. He collapsed while playing pickle ball with his 2 children while vacationing if Florida. Extensive efforts by bystanders and first responders to revive him were unsuccessful.
Lorne was an active member of the Sterling Heights Fire Department and Vice President of Local 1557. Lorne loved his job as a firefighter. He was someone that everyone could count on, whether it was on-duty or off-duty. He served his community with pride and even when he was severely injured he put their needs above his own.
Lorne leaves behind 2 children, his daughter Devon and son Carson. He was an amazing father to his children. He loved them with everything that he had, supported their dreams, and instilled passion and love into them.
He also is leaving behind his girlfriend Lee Ann and her daughter Sarah and was looking forward to their upcoming life together.
Lorne loved the outdoors. He was an avid hunter, loved going fishing, and going on snowmobiling trips. He was good at everything he tried to do.
Lorne loved his family and friends and they loved him. He will be missed by his family and friends dearly. He leaves a void in his family of his children, mother, sister, nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles and cousins. He will also be leaving a hole in his fire department family. These voids will not be able to be filled.
In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to his family. (He wasn’t the biggest fan of flowers)
All money raised will be given to Devon and Carson Farrell to help cover expenses.
All monies received are being sent to IAFF Local 1557 and handled by Treasurer Ryan Sears. All funds will be distributed to Devon and Carson as needed or after the campaign closes.
