First and foremost, Lorna and Tom would like to thank each and everyone of you for your prayers and kind words these last couple of weeks. They truly love you all! They were able to get home on January 22 and are trying to get settled. Unfortunately Lorna‘s last CT scan came back with some pretty bad results. The cancer has spread further and faster than they anticipated. The prognosis is not good. In order for her to continue with the new trial cancer treatment, she has to be mobile 50% of the day, be infection free for two weeks and have normal eating habits. These things alone put her past the start date in early February. The doctors fear that the tumors will advance too fast for her to recover and qualify for any further treatment. They have brought hospice back into their home for some much-needed assistance and they look forward to enjoying each and every day the good Lord gives them. We have not given up hope and will continue to pray for a miracle that we know can happen. We’ve been fortunate before with her strong determination, positive outlook and her refusal to quit. Tom and Lorna look forward to visits with anyone who would like to swing by their home and chat about this wonderful life we all get to share with each other. They have set aside times for visits and phone calls in hopes that this will limit interruptions during anyone’s visits and to ensure Lorna gets the rest that she needs. Visits will work best anytime after 1pm and no later than 5 pm. Phone calls are also encouraged for anyone wanting to call and share fond memories, laughter and positivity with Tom and Lorna between 10 AM and 1PM. We all realize that there will be sorrow and tears but we want to make this time positive. Prayers are wanted first and foremost. Monetary donations are also appreciated for medical, traveling and unforeseen expenses. Tom and Lorna are very grateful and humbled by the amount of friends and family that have reached out wanting to help them. Every gift from prayers, monetary donations, food, calls/visits and laughter is so appreciated and helpful during this difficult time. Thank you
