Lorissa (Rissa, "Ritz") Weller

Dear Friends, Family, and Community,

It is with a heavy heart, that I share the tragic news of the passing of Lorissa Weller (aka Rissa, “Ritz”), a beloved daughter, sister, aunt and friend. Lorissa was 37 years young. She unexpectedly left this world with her long term partner, Sean and a friend, Bim; due to a fatal car accident on February 15, 2024.

Lorissa, was a beautiful young lady, known for her wild, joyful spirit and her tender heart. She was always ready to love someone through the hard times or give of her time and energy generously. Lorissa had a beautiful mind, her laugh was contagious and her smile lit the room. She was very creative and always had a project on her mind. She had a tender heart for animals and had many in her lifetime, her cat George is a rescue that she loved to the end. She was passionate in her love of people, animals and the Japanese culture. Growing up she was a spit fire with a great love for Jesus, a strong voice and a stronger opinion. She was the youngest of us 3 girls and she made herself heard. She had her own sense of style and carried with her a kind of mystery behind a half a grin. She stood up for the weak and the poor in spirit because she knew how that felt. School was hard and she worked hard at it. There are many memories of her at the Weller cabin, Singing with her sisters with her beautiful alto voice, her horse stories, Christmas shopping with the cousins and listening to tales of her next endeavor in the next season. Lorissa was taken so soon. She was deeply loved and will be dearly missed.

She leaves behind her grieving family: Scott Weller, Father; Christine Allen, Mother; Jennifer Vargo, sister; Cynthia Jordan, sister. And her nieces; Makayla Vargo, Aubrey Vargo and Ivy Jordan. And her kitty, George. And of course, many extended family and dear friends.

As we come together to mourn our loss of Lorissa, we are reaching out for support. We are setting up this GoFundMe campaign to assist primarily in funeral and travel arrangements. Her memorial will be arranged for a future date to be determined as we reach out to extended family. We are hoping for some time in August 2024. Every contribution, no matter the size, will make a meaningful difference in supporting Rissa’s family as they cope with the emotional and financial aftermath of this tragedy.
