Lori is someone who will always go out of her way to help anybody. I believe that's why she became a nurse. She is someone who is always up for a good laugh and has a constant smile on her face. She is never afraid to speak her mind and be honest. She dedicates her life to taking care of the less fortunate. It's led her to volunteer at local homeless shelters and food pantries, even going as far as paying out of her own pocket to provide food for people in need. Her love of helping others helped her find her passion of aiding the elderly, which she accomplishes through hospice and home care work. She also finds joy in teaching and sharing her experiences with the next generation of nurses.
Lori was recently diagnosed with t-cell lymphoblastic leukemia/lymphoma. It’s a rare form of leukemia (blood cancer) that only occurs in 2% of the population and mainly in males. Lori has started a regimen of chemotherapy that will leave her unable to work. Her family is raising money so they are able to cover payments for her car, house, food supplies, and other unexpected costs to help alleviate the stresses of daily life, allowing her to focus on healing during this difficult time.
