Lorie's Fight

On March 7, 2017, Lorie was told by her physician that she has Invasive Ductal Carcinoma Breast Cancer and is facing the fight of her life. After several tests, doctor's visits, and many long, hard conversations Lorie and her husband, Barry made the decision to move forward with a bilateral mastectomy.

On April 7, Lorie had her mastectomy and is now three weeks post-op and doing well. While she struggles with the emotional toll this has taken, physically, she is improving every day and feeling pretty good. Beginning May 3rd, Lorie will start a 16-week course of intensive chemotherapy.

Having to ask friends, family, and acquaintances for help isn't easy for anyone, Lorie and Barry are no exceptions. The decision for them to allow me to reach out to all of you was very tough, but they have cautiously agreed. I am asking for help in any way you can, this is not a contest, anything you can do will be greatly appreciated. My hope is that with help from each of us, finances may be a little less stressful. Lorie and Barry need to put their focus on Lorie's care and recovery.
